The Port Moresby Power Station is NiuPower’s initial investment. NiuPower aims to build and strengthen strategic relationships amongst PNG-based partners and position the Independent Power Producer (IPP) for future growth through development of other gas-fuelled power plants in PNG. It is aimed at reducing fossil fuel consumption, increasing access to energy supply and improving network reliability in the Port Moresby power grid.
